Kirin

(Entry for Phoenix Dream: Creature Contest)
Kirin (also known as Qirin) is a 4 legged mythical creature that is passed on throughout Chinese history. Many Chinese people believed that Kirin brings good omen, good luck and prosper. Although Kirin is seen beautiful and appealing, it is believed that its a dangerously threatened chimerical-like creature. It depicted that it has fire all over its body and thus called it a Chinese Unicorn.

The concept I brought to this was it has a mixture of natural elements such as nature and fire. Nature to represent peace, serenity, and safeness. Fire represents destruction, wild, and untamed.
The horns are 4 sided. 2 facing the rear and 2 facing forward on top of its head.
Overall creature design (including the body) is coming soon and I'm thinking of doing many different elemental mixture design, so look forward to that also. Happy sketching!
